Super Moon Tonight!, Attention Photogs, Awards from Art in the Park Saugatuck
Hello Reader, Get ready for the Super Moon tonight! It's called the Super Moon due to the unusually large appearance as it sits close to the horizon. The September full moon is also called the Harvest Moon because it happens close to the fall equinox. The name is attributed mostly to the full moon appearing around 10:30 pm ET and the extra moonlight allows farmers to work longer into the evenings to harvest their crops. Attentions Artists; Especially PhotographersHere in West Michigan we will have clear skies for the next few days and this Super Moon will be visible all week! Personally, I like to get inspirational shots for future paintings. Of course, my photos are not anything like what the pros can do but capturing that beautiful color is the goal. It may look red when it rises because it will rise at sunset. The refraction causes more of the red sunlight to come through at that time, giving the Moon the red tint. Plan on being inspired by another amazing sight of God's creation. Art in the Park Saugatuck Wrap Up The big event was a success this year. We had perfect weather although it was unusually warm for this time of year. The turnout was positive with variety and interesting artists.
