501-c3 Status Achieved for Artist Entrepreneurs

Even though we have been legally operating as a nonprofit, we did not submit paperwork for the 501-c3 status until this year. We decided that it's time to start asking for more donations in the form of grants. This will be a big boost to Artist Entrepreneurs ability to offer more events, activities and educational forums for all artists.

We could use your help! If anyone has experience in writing requests for grants, please contact anna@annadonahue.com.

Saugatuck Douglas Art Club

If you want to be more involved in the lakeshore art community, here's the website for the Saugatuck Douglas Art Club: https://www.saugatuckdouglasartclub.org/

I joined and have found their monthly programs to be excellent for education as well as networking with other working artists. If you join now, there is a member art exhibit in May. Entries are due by April 2.

Apply Now for Art in the Park Saugatuck. We are still accepting applications but we are filling up fast! This year almost all of our artists are returning from previous years. Everyone loves the art experience in Saugatuck. We are looking for fine artists of every kind and unique fine crafts.

Hope to see you soon at one of these events!

Hello Reader, Commissioned Art Commissions are a totally different way to sell artwork. The traditional way to market and sell artwork is to find the buyers after the artwork is created. Most working artists have lots of inventory waiting to be sold but with commissions the artwork is sold before it's created. Whether you are interested in finding out more about art commissions or not, I would like to get your feedback for future projects on teaching the business side of art. Please take a...

Hello Reader, I found this article about a successful portrait artist with an extreme work ethic. His artwork is impressive and it's interesting that many of his portraits are done in egg tempera on panels. Here's John Darley's Website. Recently, my brother Paul said, "People think I'm lucky but I always say the harder I work, the luckier I get." This quote has been attributed to several different historical figures but none that say it exactly like my brother. Hard work definitely does...
