Hello Reader,

UPDATE ON ARTPRIZE

ArtPrize is an annual international art competition and cultural event held in Grand Rapids, MI. ArtPrize is a 501c3 nonprofit. We fundraise year round to cover our entire operating budget, including the over $600,000 (!) awarded in prizes and distributed in grants to Artists, curators, and educators.

Registration is open now until May 31st. The registration fee is higher this year at $65 but I believe the ArtPrize experience is well worth it. Here's the website: https://www.artprize.org/

But there's many questions about its use. Here's a website that shows several different ways to incorporate Ai in art processes: https://aiartists.org/ai-artist-founding-members

Most working artists have lots of inventory waiting to be sold but with commissions the artwork is sold before it's created. Whether you are interested in finding out more about art commissions or not, I would like to get your feedback for future projects on teaching the business side of art. Please take a...

Hello Reader, I found this article about a successful portrait artist with an extreme work ethic. His artwork is impressive and it's interesting that many of his portraits are done in egg tempera on panels. Here's John Darley's Website. Recently, my brother Paul said, "People think I'm lucky but I always say the harder I work, the luckier I get." This quote has been attributed to several different historical figures but none that say it exactly like my brother. Hard work definitely does...
